Welcome, I'm Olivia.

Commercial portrait and event photographer

My Journey

In 2022, I founded Olivia Cameron Photography and quickly built a reputation for high-quality, impactful imagery. I've had the privilege of working with clients such as the Department of Defence, Australian Border Force, Navantia, and Foreign Embassies; covering events like the Prime Minister's XI Cricket Match, Federal Election Treasury Debate, and Jobs and Skills Summit. On these projects I’ve worked alongside leaders in government, industry, and academia, highlighting my ability to capture important moments with professionalism, credibility, and discretion.

My journey into photography has been anything but traditional, shaped by experiences in both the military and creative industries. I began my career in the Australian Army in 2014, posted to Adelaide with 9th Combat Service Support Battalion (9CSSB), supporting infantry and cavalry units. This early experience taught me to work under pressure, collaborate within a team, and build resilience—skills that continue to influence both my approach to photography and my work ethic.

In 2017, I transitioned to the Australian Army Reserve Force to pursue a Bachelor of Design (Honours) at Queensland University of Technology. During this time, I worked at a boutique design firm in Brisbane, refining my interpersonal and visual communication skills. After completing my studies, I returned to full-time service in the Australian Army as an Imagery Specialist with the 1st Joint Public Affairs Unit (1JPAU) in Canberra. This role allowed me to work both internationally and domestically, capturing high-profile events, military operations, and strategic communications.

Along the way, I earned a Certificate IV in Photography from TAFE NSW and was honoured to be named DUX of the Australian Defence Force Imagery Specialist Program; a recognition of my commitment and technical expertise. Having lived and worked across Australia and abroad over the past 11 years, I am now proud to call Brisbane/Meanjin home once more.

These diverse experiences, from military operations to creative environments, have all come together to shape my unique approach to photography. If you’re looking for a photographer who understands professionalism, adaptability, and visual impact, I’d love to work with you.
